Planefarer v0.1.21 - Mind the Drop

Added

  • Beacon dispenser at the end of the tutorial.
  • Dialogue nameplates.
  • Marker showing the player’s position on the map.
  • Fall damage.

Improved

  • Enemies can’t hurt you during a conversation.
  • The cursor shows a drop arrow when letting go of a drag, or clicking the Drop button, would drop what you’re holding.
  • Craftable items now try to convince you to put them on the quickbar (at least until you’ve done it once.)
  • Gamma-correct color blending and texture filtering.
  • ~50% performance gain on some multiplayer-related tooling.
  • Item tooltips sit closer to the cursor.
  • Old savegames more aggressively cull obsolete/broken data.
  • Faster multiplayer, rollback, and error report snapshots.
  • Made it easier to drag multiple recipes out of the crafting picker.
  • Your home base can now be moved, at least until you commit to it.

Changed

  • Conversations can’t be started while enemies threaten you.
  • Dig tool descriptions clarified.
  • Visual improvements to some dialogue screens.
  • Removed some ways players could half-wedge themselves.
  • Falling speed has a maximum.
  • The combat cursor is a sword.
  • Converted some important items into equipment.
  • Significant visual redesign on the old Terminus.
  • Increased platform width at the house.

Fixed

  • Dispensers dropping items on the floor when the inventory is full.
  • Visual error opening containers that can’t be picked up.
  • Grayed-out icons drawn too dark.
  • Dragging a building or tile out of your inventory showed an irrelevant placement preview.
  • Alt-tabbing away mid-drag would not cancel the drag.
  • Button tooltips are no longer hidden under the held tool’s cursor icon.
  • Dark fringes around sprites when zoomed out.
  • Toolbar tool overwriting an occupied hotbar slot when clicked onto it.
  • Items dragged onto an occupied hotbar slot not replacing it.
  • Quickbar tool wrongly taking over a left-click drag when the held item is put down with right-click or Esc.
  • Tools on both mouse buttons wrongly acting simultaneously.

Modding

  • Middle-click now closes editor tabs.
  • PropItem.soulbound keeps an item in the player’s inventory.
  • PropPlaceable.permanentAfter names a breadcrumb past which a placed thing can’t be dug back up.
  • Value teleports in the graph editor: an entrance wired from a value, and exits, made with its Make exit button, that carry that value wherever a value wire could go.
  • Copying and pasting a graph editor teleport entrance makes another entrance to the same exit.
  • PropPlaceable.forbiddenMaps lists the maps a placeable can’t be placed on.
  • TakeDamage debug command now goes through normal pathways.
  • Teleports in the graph editor: a flow exit wired to a node, and entrances, made with its Make entrance button, that stand in for that node wherever a flow wire could go.
  • Graph editor nodes can be renamed from the inspector’s id field.
  • Blank text on a graph editor node shows a placeholder to double-click.
  • Selecting any part of a graph editor teleport draws dashed lines from its wired end to each of its other ends.
  • Fix: Data load failure for a ThingDec with no properties element.
  • Fix: Container contents set in maps or the editor ignoring stack size.
  • Fix: Flipping a container in the editor emptying it.
  • Fix: Various problems with replay desync.
